Ultrasound is used to diagnose soft tissue problems of the foot and
ankle such as inflammation or tears in ligaments, inflammation or
pinching of nerves, tendonitis, and cysts. It can be used to find
pieces of glass, wood, and metal from puncture wounds, find localized
areas of infections, show pinching of tissue between bones, and even
be used to guide in the placement of an injection to make sure the
medicine is placed precisely where it should be delivered. |
